RBFA and 1895 fire up fans of the Belgian Red Devils with European Championship qualification campaign #WIRSCHAFFENDAS

RBFA wants to bring fans and players closer together:

  • RBFA is organising open training sessions for the Belgian Red Devils once again
  • Fans get exclusive meeting moments thanks to "fan conferences"
  • For every qualifying match, home and away, the RBFA and fan club 1895 organise activities to support the Belgian Red Devils, all in the theme of #wirschaffendas:
    • Unique tifo project for the match in Sweden
    • Belgian bus caravan for friendly with Germany

Three months after the World Championship in Qatar, the Belgian Red Devils will gather at the end of March for the European Championship qualifying match against Sweden. They do this with a new national coach, a new sporting leadership, new challenges and a brand-new fan campaign. Through the new #WIRSCHAFFENDAS campaign, the RBFA wants to bring supporters and players closer together than ever before during the European Championship qualifying matches.

The World Cup campaign #DEVILTIME is still fresh in the memory, now the RBFA is introducing #WIRSCHAFFENDAS on the occasion of the European Championship in the summer of 2024. The hashtag refers to the collective faith of the RBFA, the players and the fans in a successful qualifying round. It is also a reference that both players and fans will have to give everything to qualify for the European Championship. With #ONVALEFAIRE and #ALLESGEVEN, the campaign will have further branches in the other two national languages. #WIRSCHAFFENDAS is a nod to the location of the next big tournament, Germany, the roots of the new national coach Domenico Tedesco (Italian-German) and our third national language.

“With a new coach and a new sporting leadership, a new era is dawning for us at the Belgian Red Devils. We believe in our own strength, but we also know that we will need our supporters more than ever to qualify for EURO2024. #WIRSCHAFFENDAS summarises well that everyone, players, staff and supporters collectively believe that we are able to achieve great results again: #allesgeven, #onvalefaire!”

More interaction with the fans

The common thread running through the #WIRSCHAFFENDAS campaign will be a closer fan experience, both physical and digital. The RBFA wants to do everything possible to bring supporters and players into contact with each other on a regular basis. For example, there will be open training sessions for fans again in the Proximus Base Camp in Tubize. In addition, the RBFA will create "fan conferences" where 1895 fans can meet and get to know the younger players in particular and ask their own questions.

“The pandemic has meant that we could only offer a digital fan experience for a while. The players were also asking to set up a campaign that brings them closer to the fans again. That's why we want to use every match to maximise the interaction between fans and players, both digitally and physically.”

Own tifo and caravan

For the qualifying match in and against Sweden on March 24, the RBFA wants to unroll a tifo with as many fan names as possible. The Belgian Red Devils are not only supported by the fans who travel to Stockholm, but also by the fans at home. Anyone can add their name to the tifo via the RBFA app and website. The tifo is also a warm call for fans to become a member of 1895 and join them on away games.

A few days after that match, the Belgian Red Devils will face football superpower Germany in Cologne. 1895 and the fans also provide substantial support for that away match: the Red Devils Express 2.0. From a car park in Eupen, all 1895 supporters’ buses collectively drive to Cologne to throw a Belgian party before kick-off and then cheer the players to a good result.

All updates on the new campaign can be followed via rbfa.be/wirschaffendas and on the social media channels of the RBFA and the Red Devils via the hashtag #WIRSCHAFFENDAS. Following the European Championship qualifying matches, the RBFA is also launching a package sale, which allows supporters to purchase tickets for four matches at once.
